Let's get rid of food deserts. For our health, communities, and children.
About Food Deserts
Food deserts are low-income areas where people live farther than one mile from a store that carries fresh fruits and vegetables. A substantial portion of Greenville's population lives in food deserts, leading to numerous health issues.
What we eat impacts not only our health, but also the environment. The food systems we participate in also impact other people through jobs and incomes. Sustainability involes making sure these impacts are positive.
We're not the only organization focused on Greenville's food systems. Find links to other organizations working to improve food quality and access here in Greenville.
